CLDMS Annual Conference

Bookings are open for the Community Learning & Development Managers Scotland Annual Conference to be held on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 November 2011 in the Barceló Edinburgh Carlton Hotel, North Bridge Edinburgh. It will run from Lunch at 12.30 on the 3rd to around 4pm on the 4th , with a conference dinner on the 3rd . All CLD managers and senior staff from local authorities and partner agencies  are welcome. Charges  for attendance are:

  • Full conference including Lunch x2, dinner and overnight accommodation: £130
  • Rate for Thursday only, including lunch: £40
  • Rate for Friday only, including lunch: £50 [the combination of both of these is possible]
  • If attending dinner in addition to day rate, add: £20.

Main themes include:

  • A CLD Strategy for Scotland?
  • Evidencing the CLD contribution to the reform of public services
  • CLD – a key driver for improving wellbeing and health

With speakers including a member of the Christie Commission (the Minister for Children and Young People has also been invited).

Sessions around and in addition to these themes will be offered on topics such as

  • Self-evaluation and learning communities
  • Gathering evidence of impact
  • Community-based adult learning and Post-16 Education
  • Arm’s length and outsourced CLD services: options adopted and  rejected.
